Portrait painting commissions

I accept a limited number of portrait commissions throughout the year, ensuring that each piece is done to the best archival quality, meaning it will last generations.

Each painting is created from carefully selected photographic references which you can send to me. Alternatively for an extra charge, I can come to you to ensure that the highest quality reference photos are taken, and the right moment is captured.

My aim is to not only to capture likeness, but to encapsulate the light, gesture, atmosphere, memory and emotion. You will receive a painting that feels personal, enduring and expressing painterly qualities that a camera could never capture.

how does it work?

After you have got in touch, we can chat about what is going to be the best option for you, whether it is to work from a photograph, or to have a private photo shoot beforehand to capture the right moment.

From there, I will start working on your painting, and keep you updated with its progress.

I normally aim to complete paintings within 2-4 months, due to the oil processes and drying times in between layers.
